Les spectateurs is a performative show about the spectator at a distance who longs to disappear in the world he or she is watching. The show was created after a 4-month visit to Kinshasa, the capital of Congo, and was in part inspired by encounters with people of African origin who live in the Netherlands. It focuses on the recognition and the alienation you might perceive towards an unknown society. Gripping images tell us about the desire and the fear to become part of this still unknown society that surrounds you.
